3 Ways to Tie a Slipper Knot

Starting off with the first and the most basic one,

Tying a Double Slip Knot or Seaman’s Knot:

• Start by tying a basic knot while crossing the left lace over the right lace and wrap it up around the left lace. Pull both laces and tighten them.
• Bend both rights and left laces in half forming bunny ears or loops.
• Hold both the loops with the help of a fingers pinch.
• Wrap the right loop over the left one while bringing it through the hole formed between the two loops, gently pull it through.
• The left loop must be bent forward so it crosses the right loop and knot structure.
• Use an equal amount of pressure for tightening and pull both the loops to their side for example right to the right side and left to the left side.

Tying a Boat Shoe Knot:

• Start by making a loop with left lace. Only make a loop of about one-third or one half-length of the lace and the remaining lace should hang to the side.
• Then wrap the remaining lace around the loop like a tight coil. Make sure your grip and wrapping are tight enough.
• Wrap until you reach the top of the loop. Leave a small top section of the loop.
• You need to feed the shoelace end through the small gap at the top of the loop to finish the loop.
• Pinch the top of the loop closed by pulling upward on the coil.
• Do the exact same process for the right lace.

Tying a Standard Shoe Knot:

• Start by tying a basic knot while crossing the left lace over the right lace and wrap it up around the left lace. Pull both laces and tighten them.
• Make a loop with the right lace and wrap the left lace over the right lace loop.
• Put your index finger through the center hole and push the left lace through.
• By pushing the lace, a new loop will be formed from the left lace.
• Make sure you are holding the right lace loop firmly while working with the left one.
• After both the loops are formed pull them together and tighten them.

How Do You Tie Laces that Don’t Come Undone?

Put the left lace under the right one and tighten it up. And then do the regular tying while wrapping the left lace over the right one and tightening it up.

In this way, your laces remain tight for an entire day and they will not come undone. You can double tie also if you want more safety.
